Designing my first custom PCB đ
â˘â˘â˘
This is something Iâve wanted to do for a long time, but Iâve always been a bit nervous. In the end, the process was so much easier than I had thought. @kicad.eda software was intuitive, @pcbway made ordering the boards fast and easy, and @digikey shipped all the components the same day I ordered them. Soldering the components to the board was a bit of a challenge, but I managed to pull it off. There were some things I couldâve improved and some mistakes I could only have learned from by doing. In the end the only way for me to stop planning on making a pcb and actually doing it was to just do it!

Without “the advisers on the internet” I would have stayed away from this kind of thing. My dad was an electrician and I was a coder (not using it much), so it might have been easy to choose it, though.

I donât get why nobody ever talks about how much it cost them.
Massive level up! Nice!
It would truly be custom if you manually etch the PCB too using FeCl3 and then use iron-method.
